Trainex 2.0 (quick) usability check
Advantages:
- Previews of the upcoming appointments on the sidebar
- Incorporates a lot of functions (grades, timetable, messaging, resources)
- Able to reserve books in library
Disadvantages:
- Counterintuitive page layouts, i.e., confusing why certain functions are in their respective locations
- Clunky - a lot of information in one place, specifically in the archive
- Language barrier: even with the English setting there are certain words in German unable to be translated with Google “translate this page” function
- No mobile app - difficult to use on phones & looks very different, so even more difficult to use
- Privacy settings odd - seeing who viewed profile last
- Several redundant functions (forums, chat)
- Location restriction based on campus (we cannot view professors from Berlin)
- The absence of a search function
- No notification when sometime changes in the timetable
- Complicated Login - having to choose campus every time
- Hidden functions, e.g., exporting schedule is under a hidden path “timetable - list view - ical export”
